Improplay Outdoor Strand

Available for bookings 2022/2023.
A pop up dance experience sharing the joy of dance improvisation to all ages. Improplay dance artists deliver hybrid mix of performances & workshops outdoors in your local park, to inspire, engage with children & families. These events can booked by a festival, by a community provider or friends of park group. We can set up & provide everything for the event, or alternativley we will work with the partner organisation to put on the event. The outdoor strand is a wonderful way to support audience & participation development as we meet children & families for the first time in a new area, get to know the community, chat to locals and spread the word about what Improplay is and any follow up Improplay performances in a local school or theatre that might be taking place.

MIDDLETON PARK, LEEDS

After seeing our dance in parks in Wetherby, we were invited to share Improplay in Middleton Park in Leeds.
Katy Hewison and Edward Jeffreys were joined by Ali Mac (Musician) combining dance and live music, an experience for people passing by to stay and watch, join in and contribute creative ideas. Fun for all ages. With Thanks to The Friends of Middleton Park for having us.
WETHERBY ARTS FESTIVAL
After a long first lockdown, we decided in August 2020 we would bring creativity back to Wetherby's playgrounds in safe way. Four professional dancers (Katy Hewison, Rachel Sullivan, Edward Jeffreys and Soul Roberts) created dance experiences for people to watch, join in and get creative using improvisation and play from a safe distance. Different parks and playground areas were used and throughout the day we had over 100 people safely watch and join in.
What a wonderful hour we spent with you. You are all an inspiration for my little girl she has so much respect for you and hasn't stopped smiling since dancing with you.
