As part of RURAL STEPS, a York & North Yorkshire Dance Hub project, supported by Arts Council England, Yorkshire Dance & Craven District Council, Blue Moose Dance Company & Dance Artist, Katy Hewison originally set up Skipton Youth Dance in April 2019!

A huge Thank You to all our regular Monday Workshop participants for your energy, creativity and dancing. From October 2019, we moved our provision into an Intensive format, delivering workshops in half terms, along with supporting youth clubs, community groups and schools in skipton. Creating long term connections, exciting opportunities and collaborations.

Greatwood Youth Club

Earlier in the year Katy had a wonderful taster workshop with young people at Greatwood Youth Club. We are so pleased to be back, this time in our own homes on zoom, although we can't wait to move, imagine and create together...
SELFA Children's Charity
SEND Workshops
During January 2021 a dance workshop was delivered for children at Selfa. We shared fun, interactive, dance workshops Selfa's Saturday younger group (5yrs old) and older group (11-16yrs).

Sandylands / Skipton Girls Academy / St Stephens Catholic Primary School / Skipton Parish Primary School
We are so pleased to have made so many connections within the skipton community. We have delivered workshops at the above locations afterschool, during half term and as one-off projects.
Outdoor School Workshops
We provided outdoor workshops for Y4,5,6 children in Skipton primary schools during the pandemic, to support wellbeing. We also had conversations with head teachers and PE leads to see how we could support them further.
