About Moving Stories:
Moving Stories is an interactive performance work for all. As the experience unfolds, children and adults observe a solo performance, and are welcome to interact with the artist and each other ‘Moving from observation to participation from imitation to decision making’.
The work is inspired by the key element of observation within learning environments (influenced by Montessori learning approaches, child/adult led pedagogy). Challenging observation and instructions within group spaces, where children and adults are present, the work uses non verbal communication throughout and shifts between the different worlds of rules, choices and space to run free or observe.

- Initial sketch shared at Saturday Open Performances during Flying Low intensive at Tic Tac Art Centre, Brussels (Feb 2019)
- Academic Research for Masters at Northern School of Contemporary Dance (June-Aug2019)
- 4 Days Residency at Yorkshire Dance (2019)
- 2xSharings to Nursery/Reception groups in Primary Schools,West Yorkshire (July 2019)
- Performed twice at Wetherby Arts Festival (October 2019)
- 1 week residency at Yorkshire Dance (+Sharing to industry professionals and local Nursery)
- Supported by Accelerate program (Leeds Dance Partnership, Yorkshire Dance & NSCD). Collaborating with Soul Roberts, Mentored by Skye Reynolds, Costume by Theo Cinkard, Filmed by Aaron Howell. (Feb 2020)
