Over the last year Katy has been working closely with Laura from Scope Charity to receive Inclusivity Activity Award Status for Improplay Project.
It has been a fantastic journey of support.
Huge Thanks to Scope Charity to reaching out to us back in February 2020!
The journey is one which Katy invited fellow independent artist Charlotte Jones (Amala Movement - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGIAW3lhKS5HuITDumjWVsg ) to join her in.
Together they met on various zoom calls, sharing admin and being a support for one another whilst developing inclusivity in our freelance working lives.
We are proud to have developed a full extensive policy and procedures document, supporting inclusive approaches pre - during - and post projects/sessions/events. These cover things like sign up procedures right to the content and delivery of sessions, social media and supportive 1-1 hello chats we now offer to have with the young people and the families we work with.
I, personally have learnt so much throughout this journey and it has embedded into each area and aspect of my freelance work & general life. I realise there are still many improvements to make, one particular focus to develop over the next few months is accessibility on social media & my website. I am eager to keep continually developing access and inclusion in the work we do.
We are proud that our Improplay dance practice is accessible, inclusive and adaptable online, outdoor and inperson. Please don't hesitate to get intouch to hear more about our Inclusivity Award Journey or to enquire about accessibility for Improplay Events/Sessions. Email: katy.improplay@gmail.com
